An exciting challenge arose for Big House Events in the later part of 2013! We were approached by ‘Hometown London’, an advertising and creative marketing company, to assist them with their brand awareness project for Rakuten.

On a tight schedule Big House Events were able to bring the creative ideas of Hometown London to life!

We designed, and with the assistance of local engineers, George Brown & Sons, created a giant shopping bag standing 8m high. The branded ‘Rakuten’ bag was craned into position in Bristo Square, Edinburgh overnight.

As part of the promotion Big House Events also designed and built 3 smaller bags, standing 3m high, and installed them at Fountainpark; Waverley Station and The St James’s Shopping Centre.

Our contract with Hometown included various production elements such as providing promotional staff to hand out leaflets and run a Rakuten competition.

Overall this project was a huge success and our team were delighted to be involved from an early stage of the process as design and engineering consultants.
