Set Construction and Installation for the Wee Wonders and Forestry Commission area and design and build of a Wind Tunnel landscape.

Background

The Edinburgh Science Festival is a prestigious event that has run in Edinburgh for over 20 years. Known for showcasing the latest science and technology developments and for making science accessible to children and young adults, it regularly draws 60,000 visitors annually. In 2009 the festival had a new home in the City Arts Centre.

Background

The Edinburgh Film Festival has successfully run since its first conception in 1949 and has established itself as one of the world’s first international film festivals. It is known now for consistently producing innovative and dynamic programme of films and events and attracts some of the biggest names in film.

Brief

• To design, create and install venue boards including graphics for the Filmhouse Cinema and Cineworld cinema during the Film Festival period.
• To supply and install red carpets for the all red carpet events, opening and closing night film galas and parties.
• To dress the delegate centre area with appropriate lighting, set and dressing as necessary to transform the room into a place for receiving delegates and other guests of the film festival.

Background

The Edinburgh Military Tattoo performed on the majestic esplanade of Edinburgh Castle is one of the most established events in Edinburgh’s festival calendar. Formed in 1950, the tattoo has been in production for over 50 years. Currently the programme reaches approximately 200,000 visitors each year and over 12 million people have attended the event since its conception.

Brief

• To provide installation of all gas burners on the walls of the castle
• To provide crew for pyrotechnics, lighting, PA and projection installation
• To provide set and scenery construction where required for individual show production
• To set up and install flag poles and flags around the castle walls
• To install sponsor signage and health and safety signage
• To install waterproofed storage areas for all electrical lighting equipment used
