ROSS FOUNTAIN REOPENING (2018)

Bespoke Event Fabrication & Scenic Construction

For the reopening of the Ross Fountain in Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens, Big House Events was commissioned to construct an oversized tap as a bespoke scenic element for the ceremonial turning on of the restored fountain.

Working from supplied designs, the project moved from technical set-out and fabrication through to scenic finishing and installation. The finished structure needed to be robust enough for an outdoor event while creating a strong visual focal point within the live performance setting.

Installed in Princes Street Gardens with Edinburgh Castle as its backdrop, the oversized tap provided a playful but practical piece of staging for the landmark occasion.

The project combined bespoke fabrication, scenic construction and practical problem-solving, translating the original design into a durable, large-scale structure designed to perform successfully in a live outdoor environment.
