Theatre Set Construction & Scenic Build

Designed by Ken Harrison for Rapture Theatre Company, this theatre set began as a detailed scale model before being transformed into a full-size set in the Big House workshop.

The build incorporated a range of scenic and structural elements, from panelled walls and staircases to brickwork, timber detailing and aged surfaces. Behind the finished scenery, carefully constructed frameworks and modular sections allowed the individual elements to come together as a complete stage environment.

Every element was built and finished in-house by the Big House team, combining carpentry, practical construction and scenic finishing to translate the original design from model to full scale.

The project demonstrates the combination of craftsmanship and technical problem-solving involved in theatre set construction, creating scenery that delivers the designer’s vision on stage while meeting the practical demands of performance.
