Scenic Fabrication

For Theatre South Productions' staging of The Cher Show at Glasgow's Theatre Royal, Big House was commissioned to create an oversized Las Vegas sign inspired by the city's famous landmark.

Built in-house by the Big House team, the piece transformed an instantly recognisable piece of Las Vegas iconography into a large-scale scenic element for the stage.

The project involved translating the design into a physical structure, considering scale, construction, finish and the practical requirements of a live theatre production.

From drawings and fabrication in the workshop through to the finished piece on stage, the project is a great example of how scenic construction can help create bold visual moments that become part of the wider audience experience.
